Lex Returns

I've been on my own for two years, and it has been an interesting journey. What I found is that the best people to date are the folks who just got out of a marriage, and are recently divorced or separated. This is contrary to conventional wisdom, but I believe it to be true.

These folks have had enough of a bad relationship and are ready to try the next big thing, whether that is serial dating or a full-on relationship. They are looking for fun, something lite and breezy, which happens to be exactly what I'm looking for. Might be long-term or it might not be. Neither of us cares. We just move forward and see where it goes.

This is how it used to be, no? You know, back in the good old days of dating (however you define that time period).

But then what happens?

Ah, this is the critical part.

The Ugliness (part 2)

The Ugliness (part 2)

In an ideal world, spouses who get divorced would never have to see each other again. If a marriage is so awful as to end in an expensive, time-consuming, and emotionally wrenching legal proceeding, who would want to make matters worse by subjecting the former couple to the same interpersonal problems after the divorce is final. Better to just move on and not look back.

The Ugliness (part 1)

Shortly after Thanksgiving of 2014, my then wife of 19 years sends me an email. “I think I need some time away.” After Christmas, she said, she was planning on taking the kids and either 1) moving in with her 65-year-old dad 60 miles away or 2) renting a townhome 15 minutes away.

Faking Your Death to End a Bad Relationship

Dating can be hard. It can take time to find a keeper and sometimes two people are really just not meant to be together.

But what happens when you're not into your date but they won't get the message?

Yesterday we asked our readers if they could beat a bad date story which ended in a visit from the paramedics- one got in touch with an unbelievable tale and we had to share it.

Ann Gray, 29, from Somerset, told us that she had been seeing a man she met on an online dating site.

After the third date Ann invited him around for a meal but later made up her mind that he wasn't for her - fair enough, right?

She said: "I called it a night and decided that I never wanted to see him again. Luckily, he didn't live in my town."

When she tried to let her date down gently, it was clear he wasn't getting the hint - so she told him outright that it 'wasn't working for her'.

But that didn't do the trick either, as Ann explains: "He continued to message me and the day came when he sent me one stating 'I think we need to have a date tonight! I will be around your house in 30 minutes.'" What did she do?

Another Bogus Profile

When I first started blogging here about online dating, I observed that I had been the object of desire for many a young, hot women. Initially, it was an ego boost. Then I figured out what was going on.

Adam Braverman Loses his Cool

 Adam Braverman Loses his Cool

Well, that didn't take long.

The stress continued to rise in episode two, and finally reached a breaking point for Adam. Yes, the most mild-mannered and even-tempered Braverman lost his cool.

Episode #2 begins with Adam's world continuing to make his head spin, only at a faster pace.

Stephen Covey and Adam Braverman

Stephen Covey and Adam Braverman

I finished the first season of Parenthood last week, a series that is provided free of charge with an Amazon Prime subscription. While there may be no "star" of this show, Adam Braverman, played by my college alum, Peter Krause, is clearly the center of the family. The eldest of four children, Adam is the family go-to guy when anyone needs advice, assistance, or intervention. And in season #1, Adam almost always comes through, never losing his temper or getting short with anyone. His disposition and demeanor are usually pitch perfect, kind of like he had read Stephen Covey's 7 Habits so many times he had come to embody them.

The No-Strings Attached Sex App

Image result for online dating

Young people looking for no-strings-attached sex who don't want to go through the rigmarole of chit-chat online are looking forward to the launch of a new app next week.

Pure, which has been described as 'bringing Seamless to the bedroom', offers sex on-demand by simply asking users their gender and the gender of their preference, whether they can host and then shows them potential partners who answer 'Okay' or 'No Way'.

Is Online Dating Really this Bad?

Being on a first date is like holding in a giant fart for four hours, the fart being your REA L personality, your REAL desires, your vices, your flaws. The second it’s over, I feel like I can finally breathe again. My metaphorical stomach practically hits the floor in relief.

This is so true, and yet at the same time doesn't do justice to the experience.

Let me explain.
